DOUG RETI BA

Doug Reti is a senior public safety and Indigenous relations executive with over 30 years of experience operating at the intersection of northern security, Indigenous governance, and national public safety. A citizen of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation, Doug brings deep cultural fluency and operational leadership across Canada’s North and in complex Indigenous-community environments.

Doug served as Director General of National Aboriginal Policing for the RCMP, leading national policy, Indigenous–police relations, and coordinating major operations across Canada. His experience includes managing sensitive national events and guiding collaborative, culturally informed approaches to security in politically and socially complex environments. He also served as Criminal Operations Officer for Nunavut, overseeing major crime investigations, territorial security, and high-level state visits, including prime ministerial and royal tours.

Since leaving policing, Doug has worked directly with Indigenous governments, development corporations, and industry partners across infrastructure, energy, and resource sectors. He has led enterprise-level security operations for one of Alberta’s largest Indigenous-owned companies and supported community-driven engagement strategies for major projects in northern and remote regions.

At Critical Risk Team, Doug advises clients on Indigenous engagement, Arctic and northern risk, national and economic security considerations, and the development of practical community-based security capacity. He specializes in building trusted partnerships between corporate leaders, Indigenous governments, and public institutions — strengthening resilience, safeguarding investments, and advancing sustainable economic development in sensitive operating environments.

His approach is grounded in respect, cultural understanding, and long-term partnership — ensuring security frameworks support both community priorities and national interests.
