Stephen Day, CD, B.Eng., MDS, MSS is an internationally recognized security risk and crisis-response executive who brings to the team his background as a senior military strategist in the fields of special forces operations and military engineering. Holding various executive, management and specialist assignments, both within Canada and internationally, Steve’s diversified career has exposed him to a host of critical incidents in extreme volatile settings. Before holding the position as Commanding Officer of Canada’s elite Special Forces Unit JTF2, Steve specialized in critical risk analysis, planning and leading special operations.
At the strategic level, he led and coordinated various counter-terrorism initiatives with international partners. He successfully advised at the government level regarding the management of critical risks associated with the Olympic Games in 2010 and numerous World Leader summits. This unique leadership experience has provided Steve with a nuanced strategic perspective on how effectively to manage critical risks. Steve has gleaned specialized skills in planning, decision making, leading cross-functional teams in the management of critical risks and crises.
Currently, he uses this distinctive proficiency to advise executives regarding their personal and corporate exposure to risk, including personal executive protection requirements, high-risk travel security, crisis-management preparation and building C-suite resilience. Because of his long-standing exposure to nefarious threat actors, he has mastered the transfer of essential skills including strategic thinking, resilience building, decision making under pressure and contingency planning.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Defense Studies and a Master of Strategic Studies. Steve is based in Kingston, Ontario and continues to serve clients nationally.
